Renewable Energy

Yenilenebilir Enerji | İltay MimarlıkIn the present day, traditional fossil energy resources like coal, petroleum, natural gas etc., make up %85 of fossil energy consumption materials.

As these traditional energy sources, fossil fuels, drain away, global energy demand keeps increasing.

Renewable energy is defined as energy derived from natural sources that are continuously replenished by nature. Renewable energy sources include water, solar power, wind, geothermal, biomass. However, when considered on a global environmental scale, the most accessible and readily usable energy source is the sun. In the 19th century, coal was the primary energy source, but in the 20th century, it was replaced by petroleum.

Sun, acting as almost as an infinite energy source, is capable of providing the necessary energy to the world for 4-5 trillion years more. Thus, sun is thought to be the energy resource of the next centuries to come. Since the beginning of the 21st century , studies on solar power has have gained an increasing acceleration

There are several systems that generate energy from solar radiation, which are classified according to its generated energy types:

  • Solar powered heating system (Solar Thermal Systems)
  • Electricity generating systems, photovoltaic electricity systems, (PV Systems)
  • Heat and electricity generating systems (Solar Energy Heating Systems)
