In the sustainable buildings are given different  names such as: green buildings, eco friendly buildings, ecological buildings. US Environmental Protection Agency  defines green building as;

"Green, or sustainable, building is the practice of creating and using energy efficient, healthier and more resource-efficient models during different phases of construction, renovation, operation, maintenance or demolition."
